World Explorer Final Version Update
Today on the 12th of August, I am now officially finished with my first ever game uploaded to itch.io. With this new and final update for this game, I added some new features mostly based on all the comments under my project. I know I said it multiple times but I appreciate everyone who decided to share their thoughts and experiences regarding my game because thanks to them I know what can be improved in my future games. But anyways let me talk about what changed in this new and polished version of my game jam entry. First of all, as you can see in the screenshots I attached, the main menu looks way different than before and honestly I think that it is better that way because it looks a lot nicer and less empty. Also, I added a very simple tutorial and although it isn't much I think it is better than nothing since a bunch of people told me this game lacks a tutorial. Additionally, I decided to implement a brand new feature that allows you to change the game's difficulty with a click of a button. Now hopefully fewer people will struggle with getting used to the mechanics and features of the game. That is all for the bigger changes, here are some smaller ones also within this update:
- reduced the damage taken from enemy projectiles
- restructured some parts of the levels that seemed impossible with some statistics
- changed the title's color
- added a button that takes the player to the tutorial section
- added a button that allows the player to quit the game
- changed the color of the play button
These are all the changes that came with this update, hopefully, now the game is more enjoyable to play and feels more finished than the previous version. As I said, there won't be any more changes to this game, this is the final version that I would recommend to play however, the original version submitted to the jam can still be downloaded. That is all from me, feel free to download the new version and I wish everyone a pleasant day.
